Do you like working at UNLV but wish you knew more about more of the university? Or are you getting through the day but don’t feel a deep sense of connection? If either of those are true, you might benefit from Rebel Leadership, a new initiative that will unite a cross-campus cohort who will explore every aspect of UNLV.
Rebel Leadership is a cross-campus professional development experience designed for UNLV employees who want to deepen their understanding of the university and strengthen their sense of connection to its mission. This cohort-based program brings together participants from diverse departments to explore the full scope of UNLV from academic units and student services to research, administration, and community engagement.
On select Friday afternoons during the academic year, cohort members will learn about the many people who make up UNLV by hearing from speakers and participating in immersive activities such as skills demonstrations, lab tours, classroom experiences, and speculative exercises.
Rebel Leadership is designed to help folks on campus connect more deeply with UNLV. Graduates of the year-long program will get to know their colleagues better and learn more about the many parts of UNLV.
Eligibility
All UNLV employees at every career step and of every classification (administrative faculty, classified, academic faculty) are encouraged to apply. There is no minimum or maximum amount of time at UNLV preferred. All participants must commit to attending all sessions in person and to working on a group project after graduation. There is no cost to participants or their home units.
Schedule
Each session is from 1-5 p.m. on the Friday specified. Sessions will be held in various locations at UNLV, on and off Maryland campus. Participants will be encouraged to carpool to sessions off their home campus. The following dates are the current projected schedule:

The application includes a brief survey of employee demographics; two questions requiring paragraph-length answers (What do you want to get out of the program?/What will you contribute to the program?) and a brief acknowledgement from the applicant’s supervisor that they are cleared to attend all questions
