UNLV 2024 Community Engagement Award Recipients Announced

UNLV's Office of Government and Community Engagement is pleased to announce this year's recipients of the UNLV 2024 Community Engagement Awards!

These annual, campus-wide awards recognize students, staff, and faculty for their exceptional community engagement in the areas of 1) service-learning, 2) community-based research, 3) faculty/staff community outreach activity, and 4) student service. 

This year's recipients are:

  • Service-Learning Award Recipient: Rachel Anderson, William S. Boyd School of Law
  • Community-Based Research Award Recipient: Erika Marquez, School of Public Health, Department of Environmental and Occupational Health
  • Faculty/Staff Outreach Award Recipient: Rebecca Nathanson, College of Education and William S. Boyd School of Law
  • Student Service Award Recipient: Makayla Franklin, Hospitality Management Major

Additionally, the following individuals received honorable mentions:

  • Service-Learning Award Honorable Mention: Michael Gordon, Greenspun College of Urban Affairs
  • Community-Based Research Award Honorable Mention: Kara Radzak, School of Integrated Health Sciences
  • Faculty/Staff Outreach Award Honorable Mentions: Asma Awan, School of Public Health; Jennifer Byrnes, College of Liberal Arts; Sara Hunt, Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine; and Erica Marti, College of Engineering
  • Student Service Award Honorable Mention: Siddharth Raich, Social and Behavioral Health Major 

More information about this year’s award recipients' community engagement work will be shared in the coming weeks. 

We also look forward to recognizing this year's Award recipients at the annual Academic Achievement Awards ceremony, on April 17th.
