Join the University Libraries Special Collections & Archives and Beverly Rogers for a special presentation, "Some Old Book and Their Stories: A Show and Tell", on Tuesday, April 23 at 4 p.m. in the Goldfield Room at Lied Library.
Old books tell stories that would be lost if not for the existence of the material artifact. Those stories are told by way of a book’s provenance, that is, its recorded history of ownership; documented readership; or sometimes through author inscriptions, or marginalia. We’ll talk about connections among authors and historical figures that come to light by means of the physical book. We’ll also look at a niche collection of female-authored novels with their own tales to tell.
Refreshments will be provided. The event is free and open to all. Register.
