Music and Brain Health - A Brain Health & You Event

Mark your calendars for a musical journey to a healthier brain! Join us from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 14 at the UNLV Dr. Arturo Rando-Grillot Recital Hall, as Brain Health & You presents 'Music and Brain Health’. This event unites insightful speakers with captivating performances to delve deep into the connection between music and your brain. This is a free community event, advanced registration is requested.

Renowned singer/songwriter Chadwick Johnson, introduced by Kalani Queypo, will sing and share his insights on the emotive power of music, followed by Niels Clyde, an advocate for lifelong learning, who will provide a unique perspective on the role of music in keeping the mind healthy. Enriching the event further, the OLLI at UNLV Ukulele group and the award-winning UNLV Jazz Ensemble lead by David Loeb will grace the stage with captivating performances. 

Joel Snyder, a UNLV expert in auditory, music, and visual perception and cognition will be in an interactive and engaging panel discussion along with Dr. Kate Zhong, Chadwick Johnson, David Loeb, and Rob Levrant on the connection between music and your brain.

Tap your toes to a jazz conclusion and enjoy complimentary cookies and hot chocolate. Participants will leave with a newfound appreciation for the harmonious connection between music and the brain. Don’t miss out!
