Graham Linck

Graham Linck, '08 Doctor of Physical Therapy, was named the Gold Winner for Best Physical Therapist in the Las Vegas Review Journal's 2017 "Best of Las Vegas" publication. Linck, who has worked in traditional physical therapy settings, now is part of an integrated practice  — Advanced Spine and Posture — with chiropractors and other medical professionals, which allows him to treat patients more holistically. He has coauthored textbook chapters and earned specialty certifications. He, wife Miriam "Mimi" Capistrano Linck, '07 MEd, and daughter Lilu will be welcoming baby Lani Aurora this spring.

Wendy Laugesen

Wendy Laugesen, '96 BS Hotel Administration, has been a corporate meeting planner for more than a decade. She says there is nothing quite like the intensity of building up to an event and then getting onsite to see it all come together. In 2008, she obtained her certified meeting professional (CMP) accreditation. In December she was named one of the senior professionals industry network (SPIN) 40 over 40 winners. In April she was recognized at the Smart Woman Summit in Chicago as one of its 100 Women Who Inspire Us. She was recognized in the industry leader category. She enjoys spending her free time volunteering, hanging with her two nephews, hiking/walking the nearby trails or beach, networking with industry peers, participating in book studies with her church small group, participating in game nights, gardening, and visiting the wine region in Temecula, California. She also enjoys traveling and is planning a trip to Fiji for the fall. She lives in San Diego.

Angela Khristin Brown

Angela Khristin Brown, '97 BS Education - Recreation & Leisure Studies, '10 BS Education - Workforce Education, works as a laboratory assistant in the department of casino management at CSN. An accomplished poet, her latest book is Rap and Lyrical Poems. She says writing is her passion.

Donald Contursi

Donald Contursi, '09 Business Administration, launched the trail-blazing Lip Smacking Foodie Tours in 2014 in Las Vegas. It has grown into Las Vegas’ highest-rated dining experience and garnered a slew of honors, including "Best Food/Beverage Tour Operations (Land)" from The World Food Travel Association 2018; "Best Tour," "Best Fine Dining," and "Best Brunch" by Las Vegas Review-Journal in 2017; "Best Tour" by Las Vegas Review-Journal in 2016; "Best Tour" by INVEGAS Magazine in 2015 and 2016; and "Best New Tour" by Thrillist in 2015; as well as inclusion in TripAdvisor’s “Top 3” tours in Las Vegas, and ranked #1 tour on Yelp. Contursi worked for more than a decade at the finest restaurants on the Strip, gaining knowledge he later would use to launch Lip Smacking. The company offers a variety of culinary tours on the Strip and downtown. Each tour offers an exceptional experience with stops at up to five of the city's most acclaimed restaurants. At each venue, attendees are treated as VIPs and are whisked immediately to their seats to enjoy a variety of signature dishes as chefs personally explain each one.  

Marisa Rodriguez

Marisa Rodriguez, '04 BS Business Administration - International Business, '13 JD, recently was chosen as president-elect of the Latino Bar Association (LBA) for 2018. The LBA’s purposes are to advance the standing of Hispanics in the legal profession, to serve the public interest, to promote reform in the law, to facilitate the administration of justice, to preserve the high standards of professionalism among Hispanic attorneys, and to cooperate with other professional and community organizations in furthering these purposes. An associate in Weinberg Wheeler Hudgins Gunn & Dial's (WWHGD) nationally-recognized litigation group, Rodriguez represents corporations, including Fortune 500 companies and some of the largest insurance companies in the world. Her practice focuses on commercial litigation and high-exposure tort litigation, including catastrophic injury and wrongful death actions. She is the deputy regional XIV president of the Hispanic National Bar Association and is listed in Super Lawyers magazine and Nevada Business Magazine for her work in personal injury defense. Prior to joining WWHGD, she served as a judicial law clerk for the late Clark County District Judge Susan Scann.   

Laura Harbison

Laura Hatcher Harbison, '90 BS Business Administration - Management, is the owner of Realty Executives Southern Nevada Properties.  Having worked for Realty Executives International as a broker/salesperson and branch manager of its Henderson/Anthem location since 1997, she acquired the Clark County franchise in 2017. With more than 6,500 career transactions, she is ranked in the top 1 percent of all real estate professionals nationwide, and has consistently been a top producer worldwide for the Realty Executives International Franchise System. She is happily married to John Harbison, with whom she has seven children and three dogs. Two of the children attend UNLV. Son Joshua Harbison is a senior majoring in communication studies, while daughter Kameron Harbison is a sophomore who has not yet declared a major.

Ian Zabarte, '01 BA Communication Studies, was appointed as a member of the Licensing Support Network Advisory Review Panel of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission in November.

Aaron McArthur

Aaron McArthur, '05 MA History, '12 PhD History, has been granted tenure and promoted to associate professor at Arkansas Tech University (ATU). He is director of the public history program and assistant director of the ATU Museum. He lives in Russellville.

Michael Roitman

Michael Roitman, '09  BA Political Science, soon will begin practicing corporate transactional law at Sklar Williams. He recently returned to Las Vegas after attending the University of Virginia School of Law and practicing corporate law in New York City at White & Case. His hobbies include ultimate Frisbee, making chili and pickles, and caring for his pet dog and bearded dragon

Eric Ensign

Eric Ensign, ’07 BS Business Administration - Marketing, was appointed to the board of directors and also volunteers as the director of marketing and development for the Ensign Cancer Research Foundation. The foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides funding for cancer research and has been regarded as one of the top 10 giving foundations in Nevada. Previously, he was the vice president of operations and general manager for Wendover Resorts, which is the parent company for the Wendover Nugget Hotel and Casino, Red Garter Hotel and Casino, and Utah Trailways.
