Social Media Management

Designed for aspiring digital marketers, content creators, and communication professionals, this three course, nine credit microcredential will provide students with practical skills in strategy, analytics, branding, and platform-specific content creation. Opportunities to engage with Rebel Media Group, the School's Strategic Social Media agency, will allow students to put their knowledge to work in a real world setting. This microcredential can be applied to a degree in Journalism and Media Studies with a concentration in Digital & Social Media.

Podcasting
Discover the art and impact of audio storytelling with a Podcasting microcredential from the Hank Greenspun School of Journalism and Media Studies. This two course, six credit sequence guides students through every stage of podcast creation process: from concept development and audio production to marketing and distribution. Students will learn the elements of effective storytelling, how to write in their own voice, use recording gear, and produce audio into sound-rich stories. Whether you're drawn to true crime, sports, politics, or creative fiction, you'll gain the skills to bring your voice to life with your own podcast. This microcredential can be applied to a degree in Journalism and Media Studies with a concentration in Audio & Podcasting.

GET INVOLVED
UNLV-TV is a full-service media production facility located on the ground floor of Greenspun Hall. Students can apply the knowledge and skills they develop in the classroom by working in a real world production environment, gaining hands on experience in field production, studio production, and post-production projects for UNLV-TV clients.
Digital Media Production
Build the skills to create compelling video content with a Digital Media Production microcredential from the Hank Greenspun School of Journalism and Media Studies. Designed for students interested in video production, digital storytelling, and content creation, this two course, six credit sequence provides hands-on training in field production, studio production, camera operation, audio, lighting, editing, and post-production workflows. Students will learn to plan, shoot, and edit both long-form and short-form video content for broadcast, social media, streaming, and other digital platforms. Through practical production assignments, students will gain the technical and creative skills needed to tell strong visual stories in today’s fast moving media environment.
