BRIDGE Program

The Building Resilient & Inclusive Discoveries to Graduate Education (BRIDGE) program provides a week of learning and social engagement experiences for matriculated engineering, public health, and science graduate students prior to their first year.

About the Program

BRIDGE participants will have an opportunity to:

  • familiarize themselves with UNLV, the Graduate College, and their home department
  • build community
  • learn about topics that impact graduate students, including:
    • imposter syndrome
    • setting professional and personal goals
    • introduction to relevant UNLV websites and platforms
    • time management
    • introduction to technical and scholarly writing
    • financial literacy and funding your graduate studies
    • the importance of self-care and work-life harmony
    • understanding the requirements for your graduate program

After the week concludes, the Graduate College will continue to be in touch with participants throughout the year, offering professional development opportunities, social networking events, and to partner them with a peer mentor.
