Event Schedule

  • 3 to 4 p.m. - An informative panel with UNLV faculty, staff, and students.
  • 4 to 6 p.m. - Mixer with your Graduate Registered Student Organizations and the announcement of the First Generation Grad Rebel Photo Contest at 5:30 p.m.

First-Generation Grad Rebel Photo Contest

From Oct. 11 to Nov. 1, Grad Rebels are encouraged to tell their compelling first-gen story through a series of photographs for the "I Am the First" Grad Rebel Photo Contest. This competition aims to inspire and will showcase creativity, storytelling, and what being a first-generation student means to you.

Submissions should capture your response to what it means to be a first-gen student. You may submit one to three original images taken with a camera or phone, and all images must meet the guidelines listed on the submission form.

Admission Information

Open to all UNLV graduate and professional students. Please RSVP for the panel portion of the event. You may also sign up for a free headshot at the mixer.
