Policy and Procedure Manual (Staff)

NRA Policy and Procedures manual to assist staff in understanding the complexity regarding payments to foreign individuals and companies. Designed for UNLV staff to direct our foreign students, employees, consultants guest speakers to our office for assistance. Designed to assist departments with UNLV payment procedures, correct documentation and forms when dealing with foreign individuals or companies.

UNLV Employees

If you are an employee who is not a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident, we are here to assist you with U.S. tax issues. Scholars, Graduate Assistants, Student Workers, and any other employment contracts. Once you have your U.S. Social Security Number, email nrat@unlv.edu for an appointment to register with this office.

International Students

Students who are receiving scholarships, stipends, living allowances, travel grants, awards.

If you are a department and you have a Foreign National guest speaker/consultant that you would like to come to our campus, find instructions you will need to know before extending an invitation. Also see information for Independent Service Providers.

Foreign Entities or Companies

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is a bureau of the Department of the U.S. Treasury and has full authority to administer and enforce the Internal Revenue Laws and has created the IRS to enforce these laws and ensure tax compliance. We are here to assist you in completing the necessary IRS tax forms to receive your payment from UNLV.

Tax Return Assistance

Our office is here to assist our international community with their annual IRS Nonresident U.S. Tax Return.

Training

Departments or individuals can make appointments with the Nonresident Alien Tax Specialist to train staff. Choose different topics to meet department or staff needs. Request by email to nrat@unlv.edu.
