Master of Science - Couple and Family Therapy
The Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV houses the couple and family therapy (CFT) program that is the only in-person, accredited program in the state of Nevada that prepares students for licensure as couple and family therapists. This 2.5-year, full-time, in-person program offers classes in the day, along with supervised clinical experience through practice at the Center for Individual, Couple and Family Counseling (CICFC) and internship opportunities within the Las Vegas community. We provide mental health services to both the UNLV community–including students, faculty, and staff–and the greater Las Vegas area. This allows our students to fulfill their 500 clinical hour requirement while gaining valuable experience to make lasting impacts.
Applications to the program are due each year on January 15, with a subsequent interview day held in late February. Up to 30 students are admitted per academic year, and those recommended for admission to the program are notified in the spring for fall enrollment. Following completion of the program, job placement and licensure rates range from 90-100% per cohort.
