Grad Rebel Student Highlight: Trey Curtis-Brown

Doctor of Public Policy and Master of Business Administration Student

Trey Curtis-Brown is currently pursuing a Doctor of Public Policy (D.P.P.) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He previously earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and a Master of Science in Emergency & Crisis Management from UNLV. His research focuses on realigning higher education with workforce needs by exploring how public policy, institutional leadership, and cross-sector partnerships can better prepare students for successful careers.

Outside of the classroom, Trey serves as the 46th President of the UNLV Graduate & Professional Student Association (GPSA), representing graduate and professional students across the university. He also works as the Administrative Program Coordinator in Applied Health Sciences within the School of Integrated Health Sciences.

Trey has enjoyed being involved in student leadership throughout his time at UNLV. Before serving as GPSA President, he was Executive Vice President of the MBA Student Association. He has also served on several university committees and was a former CSUN Senator during his undergraduate studies.

His commitment to leadership and service has been recognized with several honors, including the Outstanding Graduate Award, the Most Influential Rebel Award, the Most Involved Student Award, and the Scarlet & Gray Award.

After completing his degrees, Trey hopes to relocate to Washington, D.C. to work in the federal public policy arena. He aspires to build a career in public service and, one day, seek elected office to help shape policies that strengthen communities and expand opportunities for others.
