Administrative Faculty of the Month

The Administrative Faculty Committee is proud to announce its newest program to recognize outstanding Administrative Faculty. Each month the committee will put out a call for nominees. Applications are due by the last day of the month. To qualify, the administrative faculty must:

  • Be employed at UNLV for at least one year at time of application
  • Not have won the award within the last year
  • Not have been formally disciplined within the last year

The awardee will receive $125, a certificate, and a headline on the AFC website. Winners will also be encouraged to apply for the Administrative Faculty of the Year Award.

Professional Development Awards

The Administrative Faculty Committee is currently accepting applications for Professional Development Awards. Applicants must be full-time administrative faculty. Applications are due December 6, 2021.

The awards are granted to individuals for a professional development endeavor (to take place between December 2021- November 2022) or to be reimbursed for a professional development endeavor within the last year (October 2020- November 2021).

Several awards of up to $500 will be disbursed. Awards can be used to attend virtual or in-person professional development opportunities including:

  • Conference travel
  • Workshops
  • Training
  • Certificates

Administrative Faculty of the Year

The Administrative Faculty Committee invites nominations for the Administrative Faculty of the Year Award. This award recognizes exemplary administrative faculty who have consistently excelled in their positions and demonstrated significant impact at the University.

The winner of this award will be announced at the Academic Achievement Awards Gala hosted by the President & Provost as well as at the annual Administrative Faculty Development Day event. The winner will receive a $1,500 monetary award and headline on the AFC website.

Selection Criteria:

  • Must be a current full-time UNLV administrative faculty member at the time of nomination with at least five years of service and have not won the award in the past ten years. Chief administrators of major units* are not eligible for nomination.
  • Demonstrated performance that is above and beyond the scope of assigned responsibilities.
  • Exhibits a positive attitude towards fellow employees, students, and the public; work is distinguished by availability, cooperation, courtesy, friendliness, helpfulness, and presence on the job.
  • Have demonstrated support to the campus community in ways that exceed expectations and result in unexpected positive outcomes that support the university’s mission.
  • Have demonstrated a substantial contribution to the nominee’s field of expertise.
  • Have demonstrated a consistent commitment to professional development.

Applications are due February 19, 2022.

*Chief administrators of the University include the president, executive vice-president and provost, vice-presidents, associate and assistant vice-presidents, vice-provosts, deans, associate, and assistant deans, or their administrative equivalents, as well as members of President’s Advisory Council and Academic Leadership Council.
