Our Accessibility Resources Team (ART) provides information, training opportunities, and consultation support on various topics supporting UNLV’s accessibility initiatives and policy. We are dedicated to supporting a culture of access through proactive development; providing training opportunities for the foundations of accessibility and accessibility in Canvas; and offering various accessibility workshops and open labs.

Our Guiding Principles

  • UNLV seeks to provide persons with disabilities the opportunity to use information and communication technology (ICT) in a manner that meets the NSHE adopted definition of accessibility.

Accessible

Individuals with disabilities are able to independently acquire the same information, engage in the same interactions, and enjoy the same services within the same timeframe as individuals without disabilities, with substantially equivalent ease of use.

  • UNLV is developing ways to make ICT readily available to an increasingly broad audience, including persons with disabilities, more often.
  • To achieve this, the ART supports development and procurement consistent with the UNLV Accessibility Policy and its accompanying Standards and Procedures.

What may be the most meaningful outcome of UNLV’s accessibility effort is developing a culture of access that promotes everybody’s responsibility to participate and the resulting benefit for everyone.
