Open Lab Policies

  1. Sign Up is REQUIRED. If you have not signed up prior to Open Lab and your name does not appear on this list, you may be asked to leave.
  2. You will be allowed to practice ONLY the skills you have initially indicated.
  3. Proper attire MUST be worn during Open Lab. You will be asked to change into proper attire before you may begin practicing your skills.
  4. At Open Lab, SIGN IN and SIGN OUT by indicating your actual time in, time out, and initials.
  5. You MUST clean your workspace before you leave. This includes disposing of all used supplies, wiping down counter space, returning chairs and trash bins to their initial locations, and arranging task trainers to their initial states.

How to Sign up for Open Lab (UNLV)

  6. Please use the following appropriate links to sign up for Open Lab. Level One is indicated by L1, Level 2 IV Practice by ‘L2 ONLY’, and Upper Level refers to Levels 2, 3, 4. The time slot is indicated in the title of the hyperlink and you will be asked to confirm this time in the survey link itself. Further instructions will also be provided in the survey itself.

Healthy Simulation: The goal of HealthySimulation.com is to provide unfiltered resources and honest advice to those developing or operating a healthcare simulation program. Through tutorials, program showcasing, product previews and reviews, resource sharing and more, HealthySimulation.com is quickly becoming the premiere independent resource webpage for the healthcare simulation community.

The Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH): The SSH will lead in facilitating excellence in (multi-specialty) health care education, practice, and research through simulation modalities.

International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning (INACSL): The mission for the International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning (INACSL) is to promote research and disseminate evidence-based practice standards for clinical simulation methodologies and learning environments.

KBPORT RESOURCES

KBPort Browser – Link to KBPort Download page that contains browser. With this you are able to access the server and watch videos on a Windows computer. This is the standalone browser and does not need to use plugins.

KBPort Plugins – These are the plugins for Windows to be used with Internet Explorer or Firefox.

KBPort Apple(Macintosh) Plugins – These are for use with the Apple/Macintosh Operating System. They require the use of the Safari Browser.
