Custodial

UNLV Custodial staff normal hours are Monday – Friday 6:00PM – 2:30AM. Custodial staff will enter all SEB offices and non-rad/critical labs at least once a week to empty trash bins, dust, and sweep. SEB occupants who would like their trash picked up sooner may place their bins outside their office door or in the central service hall and it will be emptied the same day. Laboratories with restricted access must place all trash bins in the central service corridor for removal. Trash should never be left in the public corridor. Laboratory floors refinished and carpet shampooing may be done annually, but must be coordinated in advance.

Occupants who need an office or lab cleaned may contact the SEB Administrative Office for assistance by phone at 702-774-4732, by email at seb@unlv.edu, or by stopping by the office at SEB 2102. Note: Additional cleaning beyond the routine schedule may incur additional expense paid to Custodial.

If you have any further questions please visit the UNLV Custodial website or contact the Assistant Director of Custodial Services Doug McLean by phone at 702-895-5504 or by email at doug.mclean@unlv.edu

Recycling

Rebel Recycling staff make twice weekly pickups from the large recycle bins in key public spaces like the kitchenettes and breakout areas. They do not enter offices or service hallways to remove recyclables, because of this, SEB has provided recycle bins in every office cluster for the occupants’ convenience. It is the responsibility of the occupants to empty their small office recycle bins into these larger common area bins. Occupants may leave their recycle bins outside their office for Rebel Recycling to empty.

Rebel Recycling, upon request, can provide bulk shredding bins to dispose of confidential documents, and special pick-ups for large items.

If you would like to request a shred bin, special pickup, or have any questions please visit the Rebel Recycling website or contact the UNLV Sustainability Coordinator Tara Pike-Nordstrom by phone 702-895-3760 or by email at tara.pike@unlv.edu.

Below is a table that illustrates what can and cannot be put in the recycling bins. Rebel Recycling cannot recycle any paper or cardboard item that has food residue, such as: napkins, coffee cups, pizza boxes, tissue paper, paper plates, and plastic cutlery. Plastic bottles and metal cans are okay, so long as items are properly cleared of food residue to prevent contamination.

For a comprehensive list of materials Rebel Recycling accepts and details about their drop off location, please visit the Drive Up, Drop Off page on the recycling services website.
