The Department of Homeland Security/SEVIS requires all international applicants provide evidence of sufficient funds available for their studies. UNLV requires each international student fill out the Confidential Financial Certification form for the academic year in which they are admitted. In addition to the CFC form, international students must submit proof of funding by providing a bank letter signed by an authorized bank representative (personal funds/guarantor funds), confirmation of scholarship and/or confirmation of a Graduate Assistantship.

Please note that an I-20 will not be issued without receipt of your CFC and proper funding information.

Graduate and Professional Confidential Financial Certification Forms

  • You will be receiving an invitation to the International Student and Scholar Compliance Portal within 24 hours of being accepted to your program. This portal will be where you will be able to upload required documents for your I-20 to process as well as receive and request further information regarding your international status with UNLV.
  • The CFC and financial documentation is required in order to process your I-20. Without this information, your I-20 will not be processed.
  • The CFC can be downloaded from the International Student and Scholar Compliance Portal. Once you have completed this form, please upload the CFC, along with the necessary verification of funds (bank letter, scholarship letter, etc.) and a copy of the picture page of your passport to your portal account so that we may process your I-20.
