Speakers

Catharine Lory, Ph.D., BCBA-D, LBA

Assistant Professor of Special Education, Department of Early Childhood, Multicultural, & Special Education

Catharine Lory received her doctoral degree in educational studies from Purdue University, with a focus on special education. She is also a board-certified behavior analyst (BCBA-D). Before joining UNLV, she worked as a postdoctoral research associate at Baylor University. Lory has extensive experience supporting individuals with autism and developmental disabilities in school and community-based settings. Her research areas include:

  • Exploring how autism and the environment interact to shape the behavioral characteristics of autistic individuals
  • Designing and evaluating interventions to address the educational and behavioral needs of autistic students
  • Empowering educators and other professionals to implement evidence-based practices for individuals with autism through collaborative coaching methods.
Jabari Taylor, Psy.D.

Visiting Assistant Professor, Department of Early Childhood, Multicultural, & Special Education

Jabari Taylor received his Psy.D. in educational leadership from the University of Arizona Global Campus. He received his M.A. in special education. His research interests include:

  • Students with disabilities
  • Emotional and behavioral disorders
  • Educational leadership
  • Change theory
  • Teacher retention
  • Behavioral systems

In addition, he brings an extensive background in serving students with disabilities, educational leadership, teaching, and mentoring new teachers. Taylor currently teaches undergraduate and graduate education courses.
