Secrets of Armenia shines a spotlight on Armenian classical music, performed by the distinguished pianists Mikael and Yulia Ayrapetyan.

Armenia’s music boasts a long and rich heritage, dating back to the Middle Ages and beyond, with roots in traditional folk songs.

Mikael Ayrapetyan is an acclaimed Armenian pianist, composer, researcher, and producer. Widely recognized as the world’s leading interpreter of Armenian piano music, he has played a pivotal role in bringing Armenian classical music to international audiences through his musical project Secrets of Armenia, launched during his studies at the Moscow Conservatory. His recordings of Armenian repertoire on the Naxos and Grand Piano labels have received unanimous critical acclaim.

Yulia Ayrapetyan is a pianist, producer, and pedagogue based in the United States. She is emerging as one of the most promising artists of her generation, following her debut at Stern Auditorium, Carnegie Hall in 2023. Her exceptional artistry, commanding presence, creative imagination, and refined musical approach have earned her international recognition. She is celebrated for her musical integrity and the artistic insight she brings to each performance. Known for her natural musicality and tonal expressiveness, she is also regarded as a distinguished interpreter of the works of Komitas and Melikian. Her concert appearances span the United States, Europe, Russia, Armenia, and China.

Together, Mikael and Yulia Ayrapetyan revive the forgotten voices of Armenian composers by recording and performing numerous world premieres, thus unveiling the hidden treasures of Armenian classical music. Their Armenian music recordings reach a wide audience in over 180 countries. The concert program will celebrate the legacy of Armenia’s greatest composers.
