Description
Paúl Loja Prado, flute, presents his final Artist Diploma recital as part of his studies at UNLV. This program features a diverse selection of works for flute, showcasing both standard repertoire and twentieth-century music.
The recital opens with the Andante in C Major, K. 315 and Rondo in D Major, K. V. 373 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, works that highlight the elegance, lyricism, and virtuosity of the Classical style. The program continues with Mei for solo flute by Kazuo Fukushima, a meditative and expressive work that explores tone color, breath, and the expressive depth of the instrument.
The Red Rock Woodwind Quintet joins the program with Carmen Fantasia by Georges Bizet, bringing a vibrant and dramatic chamber music collaboration inspired by themes from the opera Carmen. The recital concludes with the First Sonata for Flute and Piano by Bohuslav Martinů, a cornerstone of the flute repertoire that combines rhythmic vitality, lyricism, and rich harmonic language.
This performance reflects Paúl Loja Prado’s artistic development and versatility as a performer, presenting a wide range of musical styles, from Classical to modern, in both solo and chamber settings.
Parking
Attendees are welcome to park in the Cottage Grove Parking Garage. Parking is enforced Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Fridays, 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. During these times, you must park in visitor spaces and pay for hourly parking through the PayByPhone app or online.
