All faculty, staff, and students are invited to join President Whitfield and Provost Heavey for an enriching day dedicated to learning, collaborating, and identifying actions that will advance our efforts as a premier MSI/HSI/AANAPISI institution.  

Summit Overview

  • Hear highlights of significant achievements in our equity-based initiatives.
  • Participate in impactful discussions with faculty, staff, and students.

  • Learn about the Teaching & Learning Commons and its community of practice.
  • Discover how to expand the reach and momentum of equity initiatives through structural change from keynote speaker Dr. Tia Brown McNair.

About the Keynote Address

"From Equity Talk to Equity Walk: Translating Intent into Practice"

How do we achieve equity in student success outcomes through intentional partnerships and collaborations across programs and divisions? What does it mean to be a student-ready minority-serving institution? This keynote will provide practical and evidence-based strategies for developing student-ready leaders. It will outline specific individual, group, and institutional actions that can be taken to better promote equitable student experiences and outcomes."
