HRPD: How to Write Effective and Professional Emails (Effective Communication in the Workplace Series)

With the amount of hours a week we spend dealing with emails, knowing when and how to write an effective email is a vital skill for professional success. In this workshop, we will provide participants with tools to craft clear, informative emails and understand when and when not to make use of this communication mode.

During the workshop, participants will learn the following:

  • Learn why emails are effective methods of communicating with colleagues
  • Identify when it is appropriate to send an email versus sending a text or making a phone call
  • Discuss best practices for organizing information, creating a professional tone, and using effective language in emails
  • Engage in hands-on practice writing emails that provide information or updates, request information or action, and convey feedback
