DASH Service Project: Delivery Shift Only
DASH is one of the longest-running, key signature programs here at UNLV. Join UNLVolunteers as we build peanut butter and jelly sandwiches lunch bags to hand out during the community lunch hour at the Salvation Army. Volunteers who would like to participate in both the meal prep and delivery shift should make sure to sign up for both.
During the delivery shift, volunteers will be delivering and distributing the bags (that were prepared during the meal-prep shift) with the group during Salvation Army's community lunch hour. Volunteers will be given 2.5 hours for the delivery shift. Volunteers may be asked by the Salvation Army to aid and assist at their kitchen prior to and during the community lunch. Transportation to the Salvation Army is provided but is limited, so please reach out if you have concerns about transportation.
After the program, we hope participants will take their involvement to the next level by seeking other ways to do service and seeking to provide long-term solutions to social inequalities such as food and housing insecurity.
