Description
“Everyday I wander in negative disposition
As I'm bombarded by superlatives
Realizing very well that I am not alone
Introverted, I look to tomorrow for salvation
But I'm thinking altruistically
And a wave of overwhelming doubt turns me to stone”
Dan Hernandez’s latest exhibition, Bombarded by Superlatives, explores the complex love-hate relationship we have with consumerism and its influence on identity and purpose. Through installations, sculptures, and 2D works made from everyday objects like toys, games, books, and cassette tapes, alongside materials such as wood, tissue paper, and fuzzy blankets, Hernandez delves into the dual nature of consumption—its ability to both offer meaning and leave us feeling empty.
