Clean Green Dream Team: Lake Mead Cove Clean-Up

When

Nov. 17, 2023, 9am to 2pm

Description

For this event, we will be participating in Lake Mead’s OZ Program, which takes groups out on the lake to remove litter. The event will take place from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. Please plan to arrive early to allow for check-in.

Please provide your own transportation as we will be meeting at the site.

The itinerary for the day of this event will be to meet at the Las Vegas Boat Harbor at 9 AM, participate in an education/facilitation, and receive a brief orientation before boarding a boat for our ride to the cove. We will be picking up litter for this event. The event is expected to end at approximately 2 p.m.

It is required that volunteers wear comfortable clothes and closed-toed shoes. Flip-flops and sandals are NOT allowed as they are hazardous during the cove clean-up. Layers are recommended as weather conditions may change throughout our voyage. It is recommended that you bring water, wear sunscreen, bring a hat, and any other protection from the sun. Please keep in mind that room on the boat is limited, so ice chests are not allowed.

All volunteers will be provided with the necessary tools as well as personal protective equipment needed to complete the service project.

Once you arrive to the park, in order to receive free entry, inform the entrance station that you are participating in a volunteer event and will then share the password for the trip. (After you RSVP, this password will be emailed to you one week in advance prior to the trip).

Driving instructions will also be emailed to you along with the password for park entrance, so be sure to keep an eye on your email the week prior to the service project!

Free food will also be provided during the event. We look forward to seeing you there!

To register, please visit our Involvement Center page.
