Description
Dr. Lori Tremblay (SUNY Delhi) will present as part of the Department of Anthropology's Proseminar Series.
This talk will explore the biological impact of structural violence on those who were marginalized in the United States during the Industrial Era. This will include a bioarchaeological analysis of populations from two locations: Rome, New York and Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Evidence of non-specific indicators of physiological stress, dental disease, and trauma were collected and analyzed to assess whether location, social status, or sex had an impact on risk for physiological stress.
