Adding RegisterBlast Link to WebCampus Course

After logging in to WebCampus

  1. Click Courses - select the course where “UNLV Testing Center” will be added
  2. Click Settings on the Course menu
  3. Click Navigation on the upper tab menu on the settings screen
  4. Scroll through the list to find “UNLV Testing Center”
  5. Click, drag, and drop the “UNLV Testing Center” box to your active menu list above
  6. Where you place it in the list, is how it will appear in the course menu
  7. Click Save at the bottom (you may need to scroll)

Accessing RegisterBlast

This is how you access RegisterBlast

  • Login to WebCampus
  • Click Courses - Select a course
  • Click UNLV Testing Center on the course menu
  • Your login will be automatic (no username or password)

Creating an New Submission

To start a submission, when logged into RegisterBlast:

  • Click Submissions on the main upper banner menu
  • Click the blue “+” dot icon in the upper right hand corner of the submissions screen

Completing a Submission

Detail Section
  1. Enter Exam Name - Format: [CourseAbbr CourseNumber.(Section opt’l)] [Exam Name] [Exam # if any]
    • Example → ME 301 Microstructure Test 3
  2. Select exam group(s) → Choose the exam format (computer or paper) that also ends with the exam’s course, section, & term
    • If your exams are administered on a computer, use software, and/or a lockdown browser:
      • Select “Academic Exams - Computer-Based > [Specific Course.Section - Year Term]” to ensure the student is scheduled in a testing seat with a computer 
    • If your exams are administered on paper
      • Select “Academic Exams - Paper-Based > [Specific Course.Section - Year Term]”
      • This reserves a non-computer seat in the testing center. No computer will be available.
    • You may select multiple courses/sections in this step
  3. Set Start and End Dates for the exam.
  4. (Optional) Set Time Restriction - Sets the daily time range that an exam starts/ends for the dates set.
    • If using this setting, please make sure that the time range considers accommodated extra time. We advise setting the end time to accommodate at least double the amount of exam time. 
    • Late classes: Time restriction ranges must be during DRC Testing Center hours
    • Example: A late Fall class has a 2-hour exam on Thursday.  A student has a double time accommodation. The window would need to be set from 2pm - 6pm 
  5. Set Allocated Minutes for the exam → This is the non-accommodated exam time in minutes.  
    • Do not add a student’s extended time to this section
File Management Section 
  • Upload the exam, if available.  The exam may also be uploaded at a later date (see Editing a Submission in the next section)
Additional Information Section
  1. Enter additional information in this section: contact info, communication preferences, test format, approved materials, and exam handling (how exam is provided and returned).
  2. Required fields are phone number, course name/number, and approved test materials

Notes:

  • Students will see approved test materials on their scheduling confirmation notification
  • If you select the calculator checkbox, an additional follow up question will appear to specify type 
  • If you select the “Other materials/Additional Comments” checkbox, an additional prompt will appear to enter “Please give details”
Eligibility and Restrictions Section 
  • You may leave this section blank. 
Exam Instructions Section 
  • This section is optional
  • These are specific notes/instructions for the Testing Center staff or special parameters of the exam.
  • For example, instructors using Examity include the code that will be provided to students.
Submit
  1. Double check all entries - Certain information cannot be edited by the instructor after submission such as exam group, start/end dates and times, and allotted minutes.
  2. Click Submit if information and details are correct.

If updates to a submission are needed after it has been completed/submitted, email DRCTesting@unlv.edu. A completed submission may require a manual update by the Testing Center team.

Editing a Submission

Instructors should also email edits made in a submission to the Testing Center (DRCTesting@unlv.edu).

For each submission, the vertical ellipsis icon opens an options menu: view, edit, archive, clone, and delete.

  • View - This option displays the exam information that was previously provided.
  • Edit - This option allows file/exam attachment to submissions.
  • Archive - This option you can use if you decided not to give an exam on that 
  • Clone - This option allows duplicate submissions to set up multiple exams with similar parameters but different dates. This is useful if you want to quickly create multiple exam submissions. If you clone an exam, review the exam name and remove “Clone of” from the title.
  • Delete - This option allows deletion of an exam that is no longer being administered

To View Scheduled Exams

  • Click the History tab on the banner menu (upper right)
    • Exam history is organized as a single exam per row

Downloading Completed Exams

If the option for “Return through RegisterBlast Professor Portal” was selected during the submission process, and the exam is completed, the download icon will appear at the end of the row.
