Virtual Criminal Justice Career Fair

This landmark event mutually benefits students and criminal justice organizations by connecting more than 200 interested, educated, well-qualified, and motivated students with potential employers.

About the Criminal Justice Career Fair

The Department of Criminal Justice, in conjunction with Alpha Phi Sigma (Theta Tau), hosts an annual Career Fair every spring at UNLV. The event gives students the opportunity to meet representatives from local, state, federal, and private sector criminal justice agencies providing important services in Nevada and across the nation.

Information for Employers

The Spring 2021 Virtual Criminal Justice Career Fair will be taking place on Handshake. Handshake is a robust recruiting platform that connects employers with thousands of UNLV students and alumni.

Registration Information

Early Bird Fee (Valid through Mar. 12, 2021): $15

Sponsor Opportunity: $250 includes:

  • Logos on all marketing material and website
  • Sponsor highlights on our social media channels for social mentions the week leading up to and after the event
  • Follow-up video to be sent to students after the event

Cancellation and Refund Policy

Refund requests must be submitted by 12 p.m. (noon) PST on Mar. 12, 2021. All requests for cancellations that will result in a potential refund must be submitted to the main Career Services Office in writing via email to CareerServices@unlv.edu. All credit card refunds are subject to a 10% administrative fee. All refunds will be processed within three weeks after the scheduled event.

My employer has security restrictions and I am unable to use Handshake. Can I still attend?

Yes! Handshake allows us to set you up with any third-party platform of your choice. Register and email lisa.vasquez@unlv.edu to coordinate your session outside of Handshake.

Is UNLV hosting an in-person career fair this semester too?

Due to UNLV’s policies and guidelines regarding in-person events, the career fair will be happening in a virtual format only for spring 2021. No decision has been made about future semesters.

How many group sessions can my company host?

Handshake allows up to five group sessions per day.

How many individual one-on-one sessions can my company host?

All company registrations include an unlimited number of individual one-on-one sessions.

What if my company wants to participate in more than one day of the fair?

We encourage you to register for multiple days so that you can interact with the maximum number of students. There is no additional fee to participate in the second day. Discount is applied upon registration approval by the Career Services Office. For payment inquiries, please contact Dominique Shelton at dominique.shelton@unlv.edu.

Do I have to register on Handshake to register for the fair?

Yes, but there are many benefits to registering on Handshake like firsthand access to our students when you want to promote opportunities.

No, we encourage you to register for as many sessions as you can.

I have class during the fair, will these sessions be recorded?

No, but many professors are willing to offer extra credit for your attendance. We encourage you to ask your professors if that would be an option for them since attendance will be tracked.

Can I still attend if I am not looking for a job currently?

Yes, we encourage this! This is your time to meet with employers, practice your elevator pitch, find out about upcoming opportunities, and more.

Do I have to register on Handshake to register for the fair?

Yes. This is how you will build your schedule and meet with employers and schools.
