Art History

The art history program is a study of cultural heritage in the visual arts and prepares a student for a career or graduate studies in art history and related areas.

Undergraduate Art History Degrees

Art history is a field of study within the humanities, which examines the visual and material culture of peoples in a wide range of contexts throughout human history. Looking in context with the visual culture of societies, this study also becomes an anthropological examination of the peoples and cultures behind the artwork. Students will engage with works of art and apply theoretical concepts and analysis to the work. Equipped with foundational knowledge of art history, students can pursue academic and research based opportunities in the visual arts.

Minimum university GPA: 2.30, and maintain a minimum 2.70 in art courses
