Facts and Stats
Since our first classes were held on campus in 1957, UNLV has transformed itself from a small branch college into a thriving urban research institution. Along the way, our urban university has become an indispensable resource in one of the country's fastest-growing and most enterprising cities.

Admission Requirements for First-Year Students
We accept both the Common Application and our UNLV Application for incoming first-year students only. No preference is given to either the UNLV Application or the Common Application – we recommend students choose the most convenient application. UNLV is test-optional, but test scores are encouraged for UNLV course placement. Request to have your scores sent to UNLV from ACT or College Board when you register for the test. Learn more about first-year admission requirements.
Scholarships
UNLV institutional scholarship consideration requires being admitted by the priority deadline. Students must also submit a FAFSA and an Institutional Aid Application by the priority deadline each year. There is no separate application for students to be considered. Some scholarships may have additional criteria. Learn more about Financial Aid & Scholarships.
