About Drop-in Consultations

Writing Center consultants offer short drop-in writing consultations for up to three students per hour. These sessions are ideal for students who want brief writing questions answered, feedback on short writing passages, and supervised writing time.

If one student is present, the student will receive up to 45 minutes of personalized writing support.

If more than one student is present, each student will receive 20 minutes of personalized writing support per hour.

This semester, the Writing Center hosts drop-in hours open to all undergraduate students in two locations: the ASC General Subjects Tutoring Lab and the Rebel Learning Lounge.

What to Expect

  • You must check-in for tutoring services at the front desk.
  • You must complete the intake sheet provided by the Writing Center consultant prior to the consultation.

About Athletics Tutoring

The Writing Center holds in-person consulting hours in the Barron Hilton Auditorium of the Lied Athletic Complex for all UNLV student-athletes, including members of the UNLV sports teams and spirit groups. Student-athletes can meet with consultants one-to-one or in group session formats. They should consult the tutoring schedules their eligibility specialists distribute as well as signage in the building for up-to-date hours. Time spent meeting with Writing Center consultants counts toward study hall hour requirements.
