  • How to Properly Wash Your Hands

Stop the spread of COVID-19 by frequently washing your hands. According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), handwashing and hand hygiene are the best ways to prevent the spread of germs. Proper handwashing technique includes: - Washing your palms, wrists, and fingernail beds as well as the backs of your hands and in between your fingers - Washing your hands for at least 20 seconds (or sing "Happy Birthday" twice) - Rinsing your hands in a downward motion - Washing after you cough, sneeze, or use the restroom and after touching any surfaces or door handles More: https://www.unlv.edu/coronavirus

  • How to Properly Wear Your Face Covering

Help stop the spread of COVID-19 by wearing a face covering. Governor Steve Sisolak mandated all Nevadans and visitors wear a mask or face covering in all public spaces, including outside when six feet of social distancing is not possible. UNLV requires all students, faculty, staff, and visitors to its campuses to wear face coverings when in public spaces. Face coverings help protect yourself and others from the spread of germs and bacteria. To wear your mask properly be sure to: - Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds before and after you place your face covering. - Place the straps around your ears to cover your nose, mouth, and chin. - It should be snug, but you should still be able to breathe comfortably. - Wear in public places including hallways, restrooms, and shared workspaces. - When removing your covering, wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. - Be careful not to touch your eyes, nose, and mouth and the front of the face covering. • We Got This

Transitioning 5,000 courses to remote instruction in the middle of the semester has certainly created challenges for the UNLV community. We're making it happen despite hiccups, the odd dog barking in the middle of a class, and maybe a touch of homebound restlessness. • Five Things to Know About Returning to Campus

When we come back to UNLV during the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ll have to adopt new behaviors to keep each other safe. Here are five things you should know: 1 - Signs. Look for signs posted throughout campus and follow their instructions carefully. 2 - Masks. Masks are required for everyone on campus in outdoor and indoor public spaces. 3 - Social Distancing. Masks are not a substitute for social distancing. It takes both to stop the spread. Public spaces have been altered to help maintain social distancing. 4 - Social interaction. At this time, staying apart is the best way to show you care. Greet friends and colleagues with a wave instead of a hug or handshake. Arrange virtual meetings or study groups. Avoid crowded spaces. 5 - Mindset. We are all navigating these guidelines for the first time, so confusion and conflicts may arise.
