Eligibility

  • 2.5 minimum GPA required
  • Clark County School District (CCSD) graduating senior or current UNLV student.
  • FAFSA or alternative needs form submitted by November 1 of their high school senior year or current college standing.
  • Application to UNLV accepted and attending for the semester of application applying to and available to move into student housing early June for fall admittance or late January for spring admittance.
  • In order to gain access to the HOPE Scholar application process, students must have a referral from Clark County Title 1 HOPE Office, Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth (NPHY), or other eligible community partners. We can help connect students to an appropriate partner if needed.

Required Materials for Scholarship Application

  • A completed copy of application form.
  • Identified as a Homeless Youth by community partners.
  • FAFSA or alternative needs form submitted.
  • Accepted to UNLV and attending fall of the year applied.
  • A letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor, or other adult who can speak to the applicant’s qualifications and experiences.

HOPE Scholar Program Requirements

  • Enroll in the Summer Math Bridge Program and COLA 100 E unless an exception is made by the HOPE Scholars Program.

  • Live in UNLV on campus housing

  • Meet with Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth regarding available services once a semester

  • Apply to Center for Academic Excellence and Outreach (CAEO) program.

  • Attend required workshops and meetings throughout the semester

  • Maintain communication with HOPE Scholars Program Coordinator and HOPE Scholars GA
