The Global Diversity Program Coordinator serves UNLV’s international and Asian, Pacific Islander, & Middle Eastern (APIME) student communities. They are responsible for creating programs, facilitating student workshops, and providing resources with the goal of affirming, educating, and empowering students.

Meet the Coordinator

Zainub Cementwala (she/her/hers) currently serves as the Global Diversity Program Coordinator. She holds an M.A. in Higher Education and Student Affairs from New York University, and a B.A. in English with an Education minor from the University of California, Berkeley. A child of Indian Muslim immigrants, Zainub speaks Gujarati and Hindi, and is (very, very slowly) learning Arabic and Japanese. Her research passions include the international student experience, Asian-American and Desi-American identities, and students with disabilities. Zainub has worked and lived in Abu Dhabi, UAE, and has traveled to several countries, including India, Pakistan, Yemen, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia. She is an avid fan of anime, music, and Bollywood.
