Scheduling Tips for MyUNLV

  • 2026 Schedule of Standard Class Times
    • Session 2 and session 3 will meet for the same number of meeting days.
    • Session 3 will have two study days (7/24 and 8/7).
    • View the 2026 Schedule of Standard Times.
  • Independent Studies
    • Most independent studies offered by your department in summer term 2025 have been rolled to summer term 2026.
    • It is recommended to add any new sections you might need, edit current sections, but not delete any sections unless you are certain they will not be offered.
    • Independent Studies (thesis, dissertation, directed readings, etc.) can be scheduled across the entire thirteen week term or by individual session.
  • Teaching Limits
    • UNLV faculty may teach up to (7) seven credits for the entire 13-week term. See Faculty Credit Overload Exceptions below. Teaching limits for each instructional period are:
      • One credit in one week;
      • Four credits in three weeks;
      • Six credits in five weeks;
    • These limits will be reviewed at the end of the open schedule build period and when new course requests are submitted.

  • MyUNLV will close for departments to enter the Summer Term 2026 class schedule.
  • Changes after this date will be completed by Summer Term staff only.
  • Once you have completed entering your schedule in MyUNLV, please email Summer Term at summerterm@unlv.edu so that we can begin reviewing your schedule.
Department Rooms and Special Accommodations Friday, Jan. 30, 2026
  • If you are scheduling a course into a department controlled space please enter the location into MyUNLV at this time.
  • Any requests for special accommodations for instructors should be submitted using the Summer 2026 Request Form.
Summer Session 1 Approval Form Friday, Jan. 30, 2026
  • All courses offered that run (3) weeks must have a Summer Session 1 Approval form on file with the Summer Term Office.
  • If a course was submitted and approved to be offered in the past, you do not need to submit the form again.
  • Complete list of courses approved is now available online, Summer Session 1 Approved List.

Faculty Credit Load Exception Friday, Jan. 30, 2026
  • UNLV Faculty (A or B contract) may teach up to (7) seven course credits, exclusive of independent study credits, for the entire 13-week Summer Term.
  • Exceptions may be requested through Department Chairs. Exceptions will be granted only with the positive recommendation of the Chair and Dean/Director.
  • Faculty requesting exception must complete the Credit Load Exception Form; get approval of the Department Chair and Director/Dean; and forward it to the Summer Term Office.

MyUNLV Opens to Students Monday, Feb. 23, 2026
  • Courses and Enrollment Appointments are visible to students in MyUNLV.
MyUNLV Registration Begins Monday, Mar. 2, 2026
  • Students can enroll based on Enrollment Appointments.
Summer Waitlist Ends Wednesday, May. 13, 2026
  • Last day waitlist runs for Summer 2026.
  • Update enrollment capacities or add new sections prior to this date.
Summer Session 1 Monday, May 18, 2026
  • Session 1 classes begin.
Summer Session 1 Friday, Jun. 5, 2026
  • Session 1 classes end.
  • Grade rosters open 24 hours after the end date of the session.
