Workforce development is one of five strategic goals adopted by the Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE). As a member institution, the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) embraces its responsibility to strengthen the talent pipeline that drives the state’s economy.

Through programs with corporate partners, like the MGM College Opportunity Program (MGM COP) and innovative campus initiatives focused on upward career mobility, we seek to produce high-quality graduates who are prepared to enter Nevada’s workforce. UNLV’s comprehensive efforts to build career pathways for our students lead to a strong 21st century workforce for the state of Nevada.

UNLV is committed to establishing workforce development initiatives in support of state economic development and diversification and will follow the following strategic goals:

  • Offer Degree and Certificate Programs for the Twenty-First Century Economy that are Valued by Employers and Associated with High-Demand Occupations in the Region
  • Integrate Workforce Readiness into All Academic Programs
  • Promote Active Student Participation in Career Planning through a Lifecycle Approach to Workforce Readiness
