According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the IT field will grow at a rate of 11% in the next 10 years. There is a demand at the local, state, regional, and national level for individuals to be trained in the knowledge of computers, networks, and risk and security management.

In today’s interconnected world, expertise in the IT area is valuable. The certificate in MIS allows you to develop these skills and advance your career within this industry.

Admission Process

The Graduate Certificate in MIS program is open to graduates from all fields. You must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year institution in the United States or proof of equivalent training at an international college or university. Prospective students would complete an application in the Grad Rebel Gateway and submit all requested documents.

Program Structure

The Graduate Certificate in Management Information Systems is an introductory method for those to try out the graduate program, without committing to the entire 36 credit hours. These are courses that are already offered as part of the Master of Science in MIS (MS MIS) program. The Certificate in MIS requires the completion of 12 credits, a subset of the MS MIS program requirements.There are three sub plans to choose from. They are Business Analysis and Development for Systems, Business Analytics, or an individual plan that you would design with the graduate coordinator. Courses are offered in person, hybrid, or online.

November 15 – Domestic or permanent resident applicants

Note: International students are not eligible to apply to this certificate program unless they are enrolled in a post-secondary degree program or above at UNLV.
