Description

Experimental music is a genre characterized by its willingness to challenge established norms and conventions in music composition and performance. It often explores unconventional sounds, structures, and techniques, pushing the boundaries of what is considered musical, inviting musicians to break free from traditional rules, fostering an environment where innovation, improvisation, and exploration reign supreme.

Prepare to embark on a captivating sonic journey at the UNLV World Music Chamber Ensemble's "A Concert of Experimental Music." This unique and boundary-pushing event promises an unforgettable evening of musical exploration that combines Western and non-Western instruments, transcends traditional genres, and challenges the very definition of music itself. Audiences can anticipate a diverse range of experimental music, including free improvisation, sound art, chance music, and even innovative interpretations of baroque classics with new instrumentation.

The UNLV World Music Chamber Ensemble invites you to join us for an evening of musical innovation and discovery as we push the boundaries of sound and composition, demonstrating global diversity through music, and offering a fresh perspective on the power of experimentation in the world of music.
