Sol Martinez Performs Viola Works by 20th and 21st Century Women Composers

Description

This recital features works of women composers in recognition of International Women's Day, March 8! Sol Martinez will be performing viola works by Modesta Bor of Venezuela, American Sakari Dixon Vanderveer, and Britain's Rebecca Clarke for her senior recital, with musical collaborators Marie Antoinette Antonio on piano and cellist Julian Romano. The program includes:

  • "El príncipe sombrío y los recuerdos de su niñez" by Sakari Dixon Vanderveer; 
  • Rebecca Clarke's Two Pieces for viola and piano and 
  • Passacaglia on an Old English Tune; and 
  • Sonata para viola y piano by Modesta Bor.

Parking: Attendees are welcome to park in the Cottage Grove Parking Garage. Parking is free Fridays after 1 p.m.; Monday through Thursday after 7 p.m.; and all day Saturdays and Sundays. During these times, visitors may park in any staff, student, or visitor space free of charge. Please observe handicapped/disabled, reserved, resident, and emergency parking restrictions at all times.
