Please join us for a reading with Sally Denton, author of The Colony. She will be introduced by UNLV PhD candidate and BMI PhD Fellow Dorothy Allred Solomon.
Sally Denton is an acclaimed investigative reporter and historian. She is the author of nine books, including the true crime best-seller, The Bluegrass Conspiracy, and is co-author of the Las Vegas classic, The Money and the Power. Throughout her historical works, she turns a reporter’s eye toward often-overlooked details about the events and people that have shaped our world. She has received the Guggenheim Fellowship, her book The Profiteers: Bechtel and the Men Who Built the World won “Best Investigative Book” from Investigative Reporters and Editors (IRE), and her books have received numerous “Editors’ Choice” and “Notable Book” mentions by the New York Times. She has been inducted into the Nevada Writers Hall of Fame, received the Robert Laxalt Distinguished Writer Award, and named the 2020 “All Time Best Author” by the Las Vegas Weekly Best-of Vegas. She divides her time between Nevada and New Mexico.
