The Office of Research invites you to attend our upcoming seminar “Applying for a National Institutes of Health (NIH) Grant: Strategies and Opportunities” being offered as a part of the 2022-2023 academic year’s seminar series, “Tools and Resources for Navigating Health Sciences Research.” This seminar will feature Peter G. Kaufmann, PhD (Associate Dean of Research & Professor, UNLV School of Integrated Health Sciences), who recently retired from the NIH. Dr. Kaufmann will discuss how to examine all NIH components that are relevant in the research grant application phase in addition to differentiating effective strategies for developing an NIH-funded research grant. Moreover, attendees will learn to identify advantages and disadvantages of the Funding Opportunity Announcements (FOAs) when locating a research grant. This seminar will be virtual via Zoom.

This session titled Applying for a National Institutes of Health (NIH) Grant: Strategies and Opportunities is approved for 1 hour live/virtual AAFP Prescribed Credit. AMA/AAFP Equivalency: AAFP Prescribed credit is accepted by the American Medical Association as equivalent to AMA PRA Category 1 credit(s)™ toward the AMA Physician's Recognition Award. When applying for the AMA PRA, Prescribed credit earned must be reported as Prescribed, not as Category 1.
