Description

The 'Music and Brain Health' event, hosted by Brain Health & You is making its eagerly awaited return, and we are excited to share this unique experience with you. Join us on Thursday, May 9, from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. at the UNLV Dr. Arturo Rando Recital Hall and listen to expert speaker discussions, enjoy live performances, and learn about the illuminating link between music and mental well-being.

Celebrated singer/songwriter Chadwick Johnson will sing and share touching stories about the emotional impact of music, followed by lifelong learning advocate Niels Clyde, who will speak about the enduring impact of music on brain vitality.

We will explore the dynamic relationship between music and brain health in an interactive panel discussion featuring UNLV's expert on auditory perception and cognition Dr. Joel Snyder, along with Dr. Kate Zhong, Chadwick Johnson, David Loeb, and Dr. Rob Levrant, as they offer unique insights into the connection between music and your brain.

Immerse yourself in the charming melodies of the OLLI at UNLV’s Ukulele Group and wind down the event by swaying to the smooth rhythms of the award-winning UNLV Jazz Ensemble, under the baton of David Loeb. Don't miss out on this enlightening experience to gain a deeper understanding between music and brain health. This is a free community event, advanced registration is requested.
