Description

Listen to the team from Modern Desert Markings as they take us behind the scenes of the exhibition. Curators Katie Hoffman and Hikmet Sidney Loe will be talking with a range of artists and poets who were commissioned to create new work in response to five historic land art sites in Southern Nevada. Hear about their site visits to the locations of these important artworks as well as their thoughts on land art and preservation.

Modern Desert Markings: An Homage to Las Vegas Area Land Art is on view at the Marjorie Barrick Museum of Art until July 8, 2023. The exhibition was developed in partnership with Nevadans for Cultural Preservation. Entry is free. Masks are recommended. This programming is supported in part by Nevada Humanities and the National Endowment for the Humanities.
