Ligia Verduga Performs Flute and Ensemble Music of Ecuadorian Living Composers

Description

Ligia Verduga performs her Doctor of Musical Arts flute recital.  The program includes beings with Charles Marie Widor's Suite for flute and piano and includes works by Ecuadorian living composers such as:

  • Jacinto Freire's Suite for flute and piano
  • Luciano Carrera's Estudio para MI-SI
  • Two short pieces for woodwind quintet from Blanca Layana's youth operas
  • Leonardo Cardenas's Suite Ecuatorial.  

Most of these works are local and world premieres.

Performers include Ligia Verduga on flute; pianist Katie Leung; Taylor Crawford on oboe; Paniz Shafaei on clarinet; bassoonist Xavier Woodley; and Edward Boyce on French horn.

Parking:  Attendees are welcome to park in the Cottage Grove Parking Garage.  Parking is free all day Saturdays and Sundays; Monday through Thursday after 7 p.m.; Fridays after 1 p.m.  During these times, visitors may park in any staff, student, or visitor space free of charge.  Please observe handicapped/disabled, reserved, resident, and emergency parking restrictions at all times.
