Description

Learn more about Land Art with the team from Nevadans for Cultural Preservation. On April 6, the organization will host an online symposium featuring archaeologist Justin DeMaio, Land Art scholar Kirsten Swenson, and the curatorial team of Katie Hoffman and Hikmet Sidney Loe, the creative visionaries behind Modern Desert Markings: An Homage to Las Vegas Area Land Art. The symposium will be moderated by Rayette Martin, executive director of Nevadans for Cultural Preservation. Together they will discuss the practical intricacies of land use, and the future of the Land Art movement.

Modern Desert Markings: An Homage to Las Vegas Area Land Art is on view at the Marjorie Barrick Museum of Art from March 14 - July 8, 2023. Entry to the Museum is free. Masks are recommended.
