About the Site
Lake Mead National Recreation Area is one of the most visited national parks in the United States and plays a vital role in environmental conservation, water sustainability, and outdoor recreation in Southern Nevada. The site provides critical natural habitats, recreational access, and educational opportunities while facing ongoing environmental challenges such as litter, erosion, and water conservation concerns.
Service Activities
Volunteers will assist with outdoor environmental stewardship projects aimed at preserving the natural beauty and safety of Lake Mead. Tasks may include litter removal, trail or shoreline clean-up, and general site beautification efforts. Volunteers may work individually or in small groups and will be assigned specific areas or tasks by site staff.
Important Information
This is an outdoor service site that may involve walking on uneven terrain, bending, standing, and light lifting. Volunteers should be comfortable working outdoors for the duration of the service experience and following all instructions provided by site staff. Weather conditions may vary, and volunteers should come prepared to stay hydrated and protected from the sun.
Transportation
Limited transportation may be available for select sites, with additional details to come. Carpooling is strongly encouraged to help support smooth transportation for all volunteers.
