Description

 

The James T. Schulfer Big Band performs original jazz compositions and arrangements. A variety of styles will be featured and adapted to jazz, including Balkan folk music, classic rock, bossa nova, and more.

Original work by Schulfer on the program include:

  • "Ginseng (Far From Camp, Close To Home)"
  • "My Friend In Seattle"
  • "Mycelial Daydream (Part II—Current)"
  • "Rain On My Bedroom Window"
  • "The Saddest Man In Belgrade"

Works arranged by Schulfer include:

  • "How Insensitive" by Antônio Carlos Jobim
  • "No Quarter" by John Paul Jones, Jimmy Page, and Robert Plant
  • "I Want You (She’s So Heavy)" by John Lennon and Paul McCartney

Parking

Attendees are welcome to park in the Cottage Grove Parking Garage. Parking is free all day Saturdays and Sundays; after 7:00 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays; and after 1:00 p.m. on Fridays. During these times, visitors may park in any staff, student, or visitor space free of charge. Please observe handicapped/disabled, reserved, resident, and emergency parking restrictions at all times.
