Room 268 (Gather Room)

Description

Conflict can cause a ripple effect that negatively impacts culture and climate in any setting. If not handled skillfully and channeled toward finding a resolution, conflict can stifle cooperation, damage relationships, and compromise work productivity.  Effective conflict management is an essential skill for every current and aspiring leader, mentor, and teacher. Healthy conflict management can lead to a more cooperative, productive, and safe community. Prior to the workshop, attendees will take an online assessment to determine their preferred Thomas-Kilmann conflict style.

By participating in this workshop you will:

  • Learn about Thomas and Kilmann’s theory
  • Explore, through interactive polling and group discussion, how conflict styles can exacerbate disagreements and complicate productive resolutions.
  • Analyze and handle interpersonal conflict more skillfully.
