Description
This 6-week course introduces the fundamentals of traditional Chinese ink painting. Students will explore brush techniques, ink control, and composition while learning to paint classic subjects such as bamboo, flowers, birds, and simple landscapes. Emphasis is placed on expressive brushwork, balance, and the philosophy behind ink painting.
Open to beginners and all levels, no prior experience required.
All in class materials and demonstrations will be provided. Students will be required to purchase the paper or blank paper fan for the final project.
The workshop will be held on Fridays from 3 - 4:30 p.m., March 13 - April 17.
Hosted by the Sands Institute for Chinese Language and Culture at UNLV.
Admission Information
This event is open to all UNLV students, faculty, staff, and members of the community. Admission is free.
