Description

Please join us for a reading with UNLV alumna Olivia Care Friedman. She will be introduced by poet and UNLV Professor and Director of Creative Writing Claudia Keelan.

Olivia Clare Friedman is the author of three books: a novel titled Here Lies (Grove Atlantic), a short story collection titled Disasters in the First World (Black Cat/Grove Atlantic), and a book of poems titled The 26-Hour Day (New Issues).

  She is a graduate of the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, the University of Southern California, UC Berkeley, and UNLV, where she was a Black Mountain Institute Ph.D. Fellow.

  She is an Assistant Professor of English, Creative Writing, in the Center for Writers at the University of Southern Mississippi, where she holds the title of Nina Bell Suggs Endowed Professor. She lives with her family in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
