We are happy to announce the second annual AI in the Classroom Virtual Summit! This free virtual event brings together faculty and staff from across Nevada’s higher education institutions to explore practical, creative, and ethical uses of AI in the classroom.
Program
- 9–10 a.m.: Keynote Speaker, Tricia Bertram Gallant, Ph.D., The Opposite of Cheating: Teaching for Integrity in the Age of AI
- Bertram Gallant is the director of Academic Integrity and Triton Testing at UC San Diego, president emeritus of the International Center for Academic Integrity, and former lecturer for both UCSD and the University of San Diego. Bertram Gallant has authored numerous pieces on academic integrity and artificial intelligence. Her latest book (co- authored with David Rettinger) is The Opposite of Cheating: Teaching for Integrity in the Age of AI (2025). Her next book, Generative Artificial Intelligence and Academic Integrity – co-authored with Mary Davis (UK) & Zeenath Khan (UAE) – will be published by Cambridge Elements in 2026.
- 10 a.m.–4:30 p.m.: Faculty-led sessions will showcase:
- Hands-on tools for prompt design, assessments, and course development
- Strategies for equity, accessibility, and student collaboration
- Innovative approaches like gamification, custom GPTs, and reflective learning
- Cross-disciplinary insights from humanities, STEM, medicine, nursing, and communication
Whether you’re just beginning to experiment with AI or looking to take your teaching to the next level, this summit offers fresh ideas, ready-to-use strategies, and space for critical conversation. Links will be provided on the summit webpage no later than one week before the event.
